Anarko
and Uncle Thief
Anarko is a girl. you can tell that she is a girl by the clothes
she wears. Actually you can tell that she is a girl even when
she is not wearing any clothes. If you ask her her age she
would say, "I could be ten, twenty, thirty, forty or
even fifty but actually I am ten". If she is in a good
mood she will ask you why you always comb your hair so neatly,
and do you sleep with your mother or your wife, and why is
glue so yucky and why don't you ever ever bring almond candies
for her. And if she is not in a good mood? If she is not in
a good mood she won't talk to you. Such is Anarko.
The
first of a series of Anarko stories, recording soon in Hindi
and English.

Death
Smog
A
poem written by Lawrence Swan, a survivor of the Twin Towers
terrorist catastrophe of September 11, 2001.
Lawrence
sent us his poem as a contribution to last year's 20th Bhopal
anniversary and it has headlined the site ever since. We want
to reach out to all who have suffered great terror and who
must now live with the aftermath.

Me: The Survivor's poem

English versions have circumnavigated the net many times over
and the work is in some danger of becoming famous. It changes
